The road to fame for Landscape Artist Tom Butler has definitely not been overnight.
Graduating with a degree in illustration from Swansea University the jobs and sales did not just fall into his lap. Illustrating some children's books and having a one-man show helped for a while but definitely did not put food on the table regularly. So Tom became a painter and decorator to pay the bills and spent his time honing his artistic skills and working hard to interpret his own unusual style of mixed media. Tom Butler creates his showstopping collages using a whole range of materials; in his imaginative hands a section of a crossword puzzle may become a block of flats, a wine bottle, or a church spire, and this unique approach adds intrigue, resonance and a touch of humour to every scene.
