Carl Payne

He was born in 1969 and lives in Stoke-on-Trent with his wife and two children. He trained at Stafford College in figurative sculpture, after studying ceramics and surface pattern design, and art and design at Burslem College of Art.Carl built his distinguished reputation through commissioned work, many of which sit in prestigious public and private collections, and in the public domain. Some of his most well known commissions include King George 5th and Queen Mary, a life size portrait bust commissioned by Cunards Cruise Ships and located in the ballroom of the Queen Mary 2 Carl Payne is a gifted and enthusiastic sculptor whose skills encompass life-size bronze public sculpture and realistic portraiture, through to the sensitive studies of the female form, in a variety of media. His work is beautifully executed and replete with symbolism.
