A Sussex boy from birth Mark Curryer’s interest in art came early on in life, his creative passion led him to local success… acquiring notoriety for his drawing, on winning competitions in regional newspapers. Mark developed his talent there on in and pursued his own artistic style, later in the mid-eighties honing his abilities whilst studying 3D Design at Eastbourne Art College.
Enamored by rainy evening scenes, night-time light and watery reflections Mark’s work comes across often as atmospherically moody, particularly in his architectural cityscapes. The way he uses acrylic paint with an array of different tools, other than brushes works toward creating magnificent textures and structure in his paintings.
It has been noted that his artwork is somewhat impressionistic, however looking more closely it is possible to find areas of intense detail, which harmoniously link the viewers' vision to the paintings setting and surroundings an effect which has achieved the notable accolade.
