Melanie Jacobs

Melanie is the Artist In Residence and the owner of Arthouse Gallery you can ask her all about her work and also you can commission Melanie if you have specific sizes or colors. Born in London and still lives and works in London, with her husband and two daughters, Melanie initially studied Display and Design at the College for Distributive Trades in the 1970s. She subsequently worked exclusively in this field for over ten years, specializing in interior design, working alongside the design guru Sir Terence Conran. It's interesting to note that her father, Norman Glick, was an innovative commercial artist in the 1960s and 70's some of his designs, such as the Mary Quant flower and the Robertson Jams 'Golly' are forever etched on national psyches. In March 2003 Melanie was approached by the Director of the Biscuit Factory Gallery in Newcastle - Upon - Tyne and agreed to become their first showcase since opening in November 2004, in a special area called the Cube. This exhibition of her work exceeded all expectations works selling even before the opening. and ran with acclaimed reviews from the local and London Press Service special correspondents. Melanie has been a dedicated professional artist for over 27 years finding the freedom of expression in abstraction. and landscapes Her oil on canvas work challenges the viewer with its use of vibrant color, texture, and design, Melanie is one of the UK'S rising stars of the art world, her work is exhibited and appears in many galleries throughout the United Kingdom, and is sought after by avid collectors of her paintings.
